Welcome to Dream Vacations, a lifestyle column on travelling to amazing destinations with practical advice and my revelations about locales from years of personal experience. This week’s article includes a Resort Review of the Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach Resort, in Maui, Hawaii.
New and Luxurious
As one of the newer developments in Maui, the Hyatt Residence Club Maui, Ka’anapali Beach is situated next to the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, side-by-side. While the Residence Club has a smaller footprint then the Resort and Spa, Residence Club vacationers get access to all the amenities at the Resort and Spa including being able to charge services, activities, shopping and meals and to your unit.
Similar to Dream Vacations other preferred properties, the Residence Club has one-, two-, and three-bedroom units available that include gourmet kitchens, spa-like bathrooms and large private lanais (a private porch or balcony). Every two- and three-bedroom unit in the structure faces the Pacific Ocean, so you’ll never have to worry about getting a ‘Mountain’ view in these units.
The three-bedroom suites are well-suited to a larger family with a large 2,054 to 2,111 sq ft space to spread out in. The master and second bedrooms include a king bed while the third bedroom has two queen beds. There is also a pull-out sofa for those extra tag-along friends, if need be, sleeping up to 8 guests.
The two-bedroom suites are perfect for families of four with 1,174 to 1,181 sq ft as your home away from home and still accommodate up to 6 guests.
Both suites come with in-suite laundry facilities, a full outfitted gourmet kitchen and a private balcony.
Taking a vacation at the Hyatt Residence Club Maui is like taking a vacation at two world-class resorts. With access to all activities and amenities to its next-door neighbor is reason enough to stay at the much larger suites of the Residence club while enjoying unique experiences, farm-fresh and world-class meals and one of the grandest vistas known in the world. Here are some of the amenities available:
- Beach Cabanas
- Heated infinity pool with zero-entry lagoon with whirlpool spas
- Drums of the Pacific Lu’au
- Penguin feedings
- Kamaha’o, Maui’s only full-service ocean front spa
- 24-hour stay fit gym
- Camp Hyatt for children
- Wildlife Tours
- Tour of the Stars
- Beach and waterfront activities and sports
- Daily fitness classes
- 6 free-form Resort and Spa pools
- 10 on-site restaurants, including Japengo, voted Maui’s best Asian and Pacific Rim Cuisine
There is limited availability for this resort and it has not been as popular as other Maui resorts, simply because of its exclusivity and smaller unit numbers. On this alone I would suggest to my regular guests to take advantage of this opportunity for a small change of scenery from other Maui resorts. Although it is still situated on Ka’anapali Beach, so you have no fear in missing out on your favorite activities in the area.
